Hope you all have a great weekend! I’ve got a weekend full of antiquing planned, hope to have some great finds to share with you next week. In the meantime, enjoy this image from Lisa Cohen – a super talented Australian photographer I’ve recently met online. I love this simple, blissful image. Check out Lisa’s work here.

Today’s find is all about bringing a touch of style to your entryway. These modern mailboxes set the design mood for your house before you’ve even crossed the doorway.

What a wonderful world!

Through my design*sponge feature yesterday, I made the greatest connection! This painting above my mantle was given to me as a house-warming gift in 2002 and I had never known the artist! I was so happy to have the designer herself contact me. Sarah Maxwell English is based in Dallas and is a super talented painter and textile designer. Check out her work here. And her blog here.  Thanks Sarah!

What if Wednesday: Beach Life

beachhouse2

I dream of one day retiring in a small beach town. The cool breeze, salty smell and laid back lifestyle is calling my name. And while I’m dreaming – I’ll also take a house like these please.

Ideas to Steal: Chalkboard Paint

chalkboardpaint

In my opinion, one of the best inventions in recent decorating is chalkboard paint. It can transform a boring wall into a focal design point. Functional and fun, I can’t wait to put it to use.

Chalkboard Entry Wall. A great on your way out the door reminder of to-dos and must-gets.

Kids Room. A great way to let your budding artist express their creativity.

Calendar Wall. A combination of magnetic paint, followed by chalkboard paint bring this 3-D calendar to life.

Craft Storage. Ingenious storage system for all of your crafting needs.

If you’re ready to start painting, check out this Martha Stewart article on making your own custom color chalkboard paint.

Also, check out this line of beautiful colored chalkboard paint.

Black + White

blackandwhite

This classic combination is timeless, works in any design style and is versatile enough for any room. Perfection…

Kitchen. An all-white kitchen is given an unexpected twist with industrial grey counter stools and the striped rug.

Living Room. Through the use of natural linens and straws, this sophisticated room manages to keep it casual.

Bedroom. This grown-up combination manages to feel pulled together and comfortable at the same time.

Wood Accent Living Room. The rustic wood beams, coffee table and frame are the perfect balance to the serene black and white room. A great example of how this modern color combination can feel rustic!

Found Friday: Office Ideas

office

I’ve been craving an office re-do lately. Something creative, organized and set up especially for crafting, blogging and reading. All of my favorite things: paper, paint, colored pencils, more paper, magazines, books…set up in a glorious organized fashion. Pure bliss…

White + Green Office. These shelves are a great way to showcase all of my books.

Martha Stewart’s home office. Well, if I had a mega fortune & design empire , my own line of everything and personal stylist, my office would probably look this good too…

Vintage Craft Workspace. Organized and creative…

Ikea Home Office. Love their ideas ALMOST as much as the prices…
