What if Wednesday: I were a rocker girl…

RockerGirl

I’m blaming it on the awesome Coldplay show I just witnessed, but today’s what if has me wishing…If only I could sing or play the guitar – I know I would have been a kick-ass rocker chic. Instead, I’m destined to rock out in the car and imagine the wonderful wardrobe my stylist would hook me up with.

A.L.C.’s Jeweled Tee, Fossil’s Skinny Jeans, Paisley Fringe Scarf, and tons of layered bracelets like these from Urban Outfitters. For shoes, I’d add more embellishment in these Antik Batik sandals.

Nested Tuesday: Wallpaper

Wallpaper

Wallpaper has cast a spell on me. I love the drama it creates in a space! It can inspire an entire room or be used as an accent on one focal wall or even a small piece of furniture.

Sophisticated Bedroom. This tonal backrop sets the mood for this soothing, serene bedroom.

Metallic Living Room. What a great way to add some oomph to your living room! I love the glamour.

Storage Nook. The wallpaper backdrop turns an otherwise boring storage nook into a focal and pleasing place to sit and read.

Wallpaper Shelves. And, if you just can’t commit to an entire room or even a wall – consider lining shelves or the back of a bookcase.

What if Wednesday: Letterpress

letterpress

Okay. This is my first what-if that may actually happen. I have a borderline unhealthy obsession with paper. I love the smell, the texture, the colors that beautiful paper can deliver. I have storage cases full of paper just waiting for the perfect use…my current paper obsession is with letterpress. I love that this old-school printing technique is enjoying a well-deserved comeback. I’m going to be checking out a local letterpress class this fall, stay tuned…

Letterpress Wedding Invites. A great added detail to the most special of invites.

Record Coasters.

Letters. How it all starts…what an art.

Live What You Love Poster. A recent Etsy purchase for our hallway – it’s such a great quote to start your day.

Nested Tuesday: In Living Color

colorliving

Maybe it’s our neutral walls, maybe it’s my love of color. Whatever it is, I’m itching to bring some brightness to our living space. But, for now, I’ll live through these images…

Double Color Living. This bold room is a true commitment to color. No detail from the wall-paper to the rug is left to boring…

Turquoise Sofa. The colorful seating in this otherwise white room keeps the mood quirky and casual – perfect for entertaining.

Pink Space. An unexpected color for a common gathering space, I love the neutral cream and grey furniture against the bright backdrop.

Sunny Kitchen. This kitchen is so happy and sunny, exactly as a kitchen should be.

Inspired Monday: Take a Number

numbers

I’m loving numbers right now. They are clean, graphic and suggest order and organization, but also seem to hint at a story behind them…a few numbered items I’m coveting:

Numbered Carafe.

Recycled Sail Pillow.

Lucky # 7 Tote Bag.

Love Letters Poster.

Found Friday: Dish Dreaming

dishes

I love collecting vintage dishes. The engaging colors and modern shapes make an eclectic setting for any table – formal, casual, traditional or modern. A few lovelies:

Russel Wright was an American designer who, along with his wife and business partner, Mary, revolutionized the way American families approached entertaining. They imagined a life that was simple and casual, and co-authored their “Guide to Easier Living” in 1950 . This book re-imagined a practical, while still beautiful approach to home decorating.

Eva Ziesel is a Hungarian designer, ceramist and teacher who has paved the way for many women in the design area – even today. She is known for her abstract pottery that has fluid lines, irregular and perfect all at the same time.

Fiestaware was originally designed by Frederick Hurten Rhead in 1936, and is still one of the most collected dish lines in the world. These iconic dishes are known for their symmetry and saturated colors. Simple and happy…

ebay and etsy are great places to start your own collection today!

Etsy Love: the birds and the bees

bridsandbees

Let me tell you ’bout the birds and the bees I found on etsy today!  Maybe it’s the summer heat or the plants in full bloom – but I’m quite drawn to these natural wonders.
