I love finding quick, simple gift ideas that I can make over and over. Today’s DIY is easy customizable for a baby’s room, a crafty friends birthday – really any occasion. And – the best part, it’s easy and quick. Perfect for this holiday season.
Before you start, I suggest choosing your color theme so you can select papers that will coordinate.
Materials:
1. Paper Punch Out. I like the Martha Stewart Collection, they have so many shapes to choose from!
2. Decorative Paper.
3. Adhesive. I prefer Zots, they are the perfect size and easier to use than glue or tape.
4. Card Stock.
5. Shadow Box Frame.
6. Ruler.
Instructions:
1. Cut your card stock to fit the shadow box. Make sure it fits tightly before you begin crafting! You don’t want to get to the end and realize your background doesn’t fit the frame.
2. Plan your design. Measure the length and width of the background (card stock) and the length and width of the paper punch out. I usually leave 1/2 to 3/4 inch on either side of my cut out and the same above and below.
3. Punch out your designs into all of your different patterns. I like to stagger my patterns in a repeat so the end result has some symmetry.
4. Adhere the punch out to the card stock using your pre-determined spacing.
5. Place cardstock in frame.
6. Enjoy your finished result!
Easy as pie…if you do try this project – I’d love to see your work of art! Send a photo to thesomedayblog@gmail.com.
