putting my skills to work (for YOU)

One thing I love about this blogging gig (and my real gig) is that I can pretty much classify any shopping I do as research.  Today, I’m putting my mad skills to work for you and sharing some of the coolest sale product I’ve spied from around the web.  Have fun scooping up these deals!
Celebrate Plates; Ditsy Floral Bowl; Ikat Tray; Egg Giclee; Spare Our Trees Tote Bag; Porcelain Bowls; Small Seaweed Bowls; Bracelet; Fig Napkins.

Massive Wood Bowl; Teak Flower Box; Pepper Pillow; Storage Ottoman; Pigeon Wall Art; Pencil Case; Helix Vase; Bow Bracelet; Desk Fan.

three lil’ things (in white)

I love the number three for three reasons:

1.  It’s an odd number.  And odd numbers are so much more interesting than evens.  Plus the word odd itself is just, well…odd.

2.  Three’s are memorable.  Three’s Company, Three Little Pigs, Three Blind Mice, Goldilocks and the three bears….you get the picture.

3.  And because I love the way both the word THREE and the number 3 looks when written.

So today – I’m sharing three lil’ things that I’m currently crushing on…all in the color white.  First up, the Holga Camera.  I love the vintage pics this camera takes – and I’m thinking the white would be so much easier to find in the bottom of my bag!

This adorable bird would look perfect perched in my bookcases…right next to my cream stack of books.  Yes, I organize my books by color.

This vintage-inspired cardigan to wear with pretty much everything this fall.

Year Two, Here We Go!

Wow!  Two years…isn’t it funny how your entire life comes down to moments that you’ll remember forever?  And those moments seem both like they happened yesterday, and years ago at the same time?  Two years ago today, I was saying “I do” to my wonderful husband surrounded by those I love the most in life.  What a happy day!  And what a happy life ever since…

The traditional gift for second anniversary is cotton – and boy – do I love cotton!  I’ve rounded up a few gift ideas for the modern guy.

A quirky bandanna handkerchief. The perfect overnight bag (that I can’t wait to borrow!)  A staple plaid shirt – perfect for a casual look.  Fun socks to hide underneath that otherwise serious suit.

Today I’m Loving: Modern Genealogy

Happy Monday friends!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend…mine led me to a very long car ride from New Jersey to Connecticut which left me lots of time to reflect.  And it got me thinking about family history and specifically genealogy.

Something that my grandmother was always into – and something which I thought was cool to think about but not to display in my home.  That is, until I stumbled upon My Tree and Me – a shop that does super cool, totally modernized family trees.  And now I’ve started to reconsider their place in the modern home.

I love the wonderful usage of color, strong graphic sensibilities and the way each is photographed in a way that I can totally borrow for my own home.  And another highlight?  1% of profits are donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation…a cause that’s very near and dear to my heart.

So now the only thing I’m thinking about is which one I’ll be ordering…soon.

You?

Shop Talk: Canvas

Oh wow!  It’s rare that I find a shop that I want to buy nearly everything they stock.  I found one exception recently with Canvas, a beautiful home store that sells ceramics, wood, textiles, furniture and on and on.

Their styling is amazing, their edited assortment to die for…and possibly my favorite part – everything they sell is created by artisans and craftsman that practice fair trade and green principles.  Perfect.  Products that not only look good, but you can feel good about buying – even in mass quantity as I plan to do!

Pop on over to check out their fantastic shop this weekend!

Happy Friday friends!

xoxo, jill.
