Weekend Snapshots

Hello lovelies! I hope that you enjoyed the long weekend as much as I did. I love having that one extra day…finally got to some of the more in depth projects on the to-do list. A few snapshots from my weekend.

I scavenged around a local salvage yard looking for inspiration. And while nothing made the cut to come home with me, I did get some lovely pics!
Inspired by Ez over at Creature Comforts, I took a try at caramel making. Three batches in, I finally got the hang of it and have to say I was quite pleased with myself. I added Fleur de Sel sea salt to this recipe for a twist on the classic. Adding 1 1/2 teaspoons sea salt in with the cream, just a touch. And now I’m drizzling this goodness on apples for a yummy treat.
What were you up to this weekend?
Closet Craving: Organization

40 boxes, a weekend with a U-Haul and one sore back later and we’re in the new house. And for the first time, my husband and I will be sharing a closet. I’m not sure who’s dreading this more. Needless to say, I’m in need of major organization tips. Where to turn, but to Martha Stewart? These images and articles provided some inspiration to help me whip our shared 10 square feet of space into something beautiful, organized and easy to maintain. At least I’m hoping…
what a great way to store scarves, belts and ties!
to maintain the jewelry madness.
i’m loving the orange storage boxes…
Some of my favorite articles on closet organization can be found here.
xoxo, jill.

And done! I left the tips exposed because I liked the juxtaposition of the bark and yarn, but feel free to end yours wherever you feel! A quick, inexpensive, cute holiday home project.
